In recent days, after preliminary preparations, all sets of equipment have been delivered to the site of S.C’s Perovskite Pilot Line based in Changzhou, successfully commissioned, and officially put into operation. The efficiency of 300mm*300mm perovskite solar cell has exceeded 18%, while the efficiency of 210 half-cell perovskite/c-Si tandem solar cell has exceeded 26%. S.C is doing more researches on the key performances of perovskite solar cell mass production.

S.C’s Perovskite Pilot Line is a self-built verification and innovation platform for the production equipment of perovskite solar cells and tandem solar cells, covering an area of about 1,000m2. The pilot line verifies each type of equipment manufactured by each business division of S.C. It is staffed and operated in full compliance with the production requirements of mass produced solar cells. More than 20 sets of equipment are on site, including PVK Coating Equipment (for TCO glass, crystalline silicon and other substrates), Multi-Component Co-Evaporation Equipment, Laser Scribing Equipment, PVD, RPD, ALD, and other core process equipment. All sets of equipment, which covers all process steps of perovskite single-junction solar cell and tandem solar cell production, are independently designed and manufactured by S.C, with fully independent intellectual property rights.

The pilot line is equipped with a clean room. The internal temperature, humidity and cleanliness of the clean room are strictly controlled. The interior and exterior of the room are connected by pass-through chambers, which can effectively minimize the exposure of solar cells to the external environment. The pilot line has developed an innovative integrated mass production system that can prepare a number of film layers within a single set of equipment, thus reducing floor space. Also, the pilot line is supported by a professional R&D team. The team researches and develops perovskite precursor chemicals, key materials, etc. based on the mass production demands of perovskite solar cells, and develops the preparation process of related thin films.
